Know some tools to debriefing tools to debrief effectively, such as:

Pair and share (find a partner to discuss a debriefing question together, it allows the students to practice their answer before sharing with the large group).

Metaphoric methods (use any objects/images to represent represent participant's or group's reactions to an experience).
Front Loading (giving an example before the experience rather than afterwards, it gives participants sense of the task purpose, expectations for behavior and motivation for coming up with their answer).

Self reflection (provide opportunity to students to reflect themselves. For example, a teacher can say, "This side of the room is always taking charge." The other side of the room is always, "allowing others to lead." I
want each of you to find the place on the continuum where you most fit today").
Actions and reflection (have students sit in a circle/group and teacher ask them questions regarding their reactions to experiences).

Sit and get (its a talking sessions where the teacher ask questions to students to answer. Get the students sit in a circle and the teacher direct questions to students to respond. Have to limit this method because it can become bore and students easily distracted as it does not give them chance to express their own experiences).

Anchor pieces (anchor pieces are small trinkets or mementos of session that students take home with them. These objects will anchor the learning and experiences they had back to your session/program. Examples; community puzzle and later letter).

Artistic methods (allow students to have creative freedom to express their learning through different mediums. Examples; art projects, photography, musical methods or videography).
